Local Dog Parks
There are a multitude of dog parks in Parker and the surrounding area that you can take your well-socialized dog!
Please know that you are expected to pick up after your dog and there are waste bags and receptacles in multiple locations throughout these dog parks!
USMC CPL David M. Sonka Dog Park
17855 Pine Ln between Parker Road and Jordan Road
This amazing dog park was opened a few years ago in memory of Corporal David M. Sonka who graduated from Chaparral High School. Corporal Sonka and his military working dog, Flex, were killed in action in Afghanistan in 2013.
There is a beautiful memorial for Corporal Sonka at the entrance to this great dog park. Please take a moment during one of your visits to read and pay your respects to this fallen soldier.
This dog park is over 5 acres with drinking fountains, a large shaded structure where you can sit if you choose, an agility course, and a small dog area for those little ones a bit too scared to go into the big park.
There is a walking trail around the perimeter of the park. My rough estimate (using GPS) is that 3 laps equal a mile of walking. Great exercise for you and your dog!
Bayou Gulch Off-Leash Dog Park
On the south side of Parker there is the Bayou Gulch Off-Leash Dog Park. This is a smaller dog park (roughly 1/3 size of the Sonka Park), but it is more grass-covered. Make sure you bring your own water!
Glendale Farm Off-Leash Dog Park
This 13-acre park is one of the largest dog parks you’ll find and it’s also adjacent to some pretty nice hiking trails that you can use as well.
Technically it’s within the city limits of Castle Rock, but it’s a quick drive from Main Street in Parker.
This dog park is so large that you can not see your dog from one end to the other, so if your dog doesn’t come when called this may not be the best park to start with.
There is usually water bowls with water access for the dogs inside the park, but you may want to bring your own. That water can be sitting there for some time before your dog comes along.
Cherry Creek Dog Off Leash Area
4201 S Parker Rd, Aurora, CO 80014
This massive 107-acre dog park is every active dog’s dream. It’s one of the most popular parks in the Denver area so expect parking issues during peak times.
You do need a Colorado Park Pass as well as a DOLA (Dog Off Leash Area) Pass to enter the park. If you don’t already have a pass when you arrive, you can either purchase them there.
